Welcome to the Embodied Awareness Coterie – a 6-month immersive space for seekers, dreamers, and feelers ready to deepen their meditation practice with heart, presence, and loads of empathy. Whether you just started dipping your toes in mindfulness or are a seasoned meditator, this small group experience will support you in embodying your awareness with kindness, curiosity, and a sense of community.

So, What Exactly Is the Embodied Awareness Coterie?

  • Mindfulness: Often referred to as embodied awareness, invites us to fully inhabit our bodies and experience life through a lens of compassionate presence. We explore mindfulness not just as a practice, but as a way of being in the world. It’s the art of bringing kind, non-judgmental awareness to everything—from the smallest sensation to the grandest emotions. Its roots are in Buddhism, but it has adopted a more secular approach since the introduction of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) by Jon Kabat-Zinn in the seventies.

  • Meditation: The formal practice of cultivating mindfulness through focused attention, compassion, and open awareness. By concentrating on a point of focus and bringing kind awareness to your experience and movements, you’ll develop deeper presence in all areas of life. Meditation is about showing up for yourself and others, just as you are, moment by moment, nurturing empathy both inwardly and outwardly as you navigate your practice.

  • Coterie: A sweet, intentional circle of like-hearted individuals (no more than 10) coming together with a shared purpose. In this space, we journey together, learning, growing, and supporting one another in true community. It’s a place where authenticity, connection, and mutual care are nurtured. Think of it as a club, but with more soul, where every voice matters and every experience is honored.

Basically, it’s my fancy title for a mindfulness meditation cohort.

Monthly Recorded Meditations

Dive into your practice with recorded sessions designed to meet us where we are. Each meditation will connect you to different themes like affirmation, concentration, compassion, and more. Followed by a short talk on how to integrate the theme into our daily lives in a way that is sensitive to our intersectional identities and unique experiences. These are shared 2-3 times per month so you can engage with the practice at your own pace.

Monthly Group Gathering

Meditation practice is great but can be really challenging to stick to. At these gatherings, you’ll be celebrated for how far you’ve come, you’ll support each other’s continued success, and offer personal wisdom from your own practice. This exchange can add a special layer of fullness to your practice. It’ll include a meditation or mindfulness exercise, discussion groups, and time for Q+A.

Accountability Group

Want a little extra accountability? Do I need prior meditation experience to join?

No prior experience is necessary! The Embodied Awareness Coterie is designed to support both beginners and seasoned meditators. Whether you’re new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice, you’ll find a welcoming space to grow.

How much time do I need to commit each week?

You can engage with the Coterie at your own pace. Weekly recorded meditations are available, and the live group session happens once a month. We encourage setting aside at least 30 minutes a few times per week, but how much you participate is up to you.

What are the benefits of the private instruction?

Private instruction allows you to dive deeper into your personal mindfulness journey. In these one-on-one sessions, you’ll work with Brenda to address specific challenges, enhance your practice, and integrate mindfulness into your daily life with personalized guidance.

What if I can’t attend the live sessions?

No worries! All live sessions are recorded and added to our video library, so you can watch them whenever it suits you. This way, you won’t miss out on any important moments, even if your schedule is busy.

How does the accountability group work?

The optional accountability group is hosted on Telegram, where you can connect with fellow members to share progress, ask questions, and offer encouragement. It’s a supportive space to keep you motivated and engaged in your practice. I’ll also be popping in regularly with inspiration.

Can I cancel my participation if it’s not the right fit for me?
